Analyzing Stroke Technique
Knowing what to look for and correct in technique in younger swimmers is a different skill than teaching the stroke itself. This section will be populated this summer (2025) with video shorts to help to train the "critical eye" coaches need to spot and correct errors in the technique of young swimmers. If you have a suggestion for topics to cover, please send to the administrator - gcronauer@aol.com

Stroke Analysis - Multiple Strokes & Swimmers
This four-and-a-half minute video (reduced to 480p resolution) shows young AG swimmers doing Fly, Back and Breast five seconds apart, just like a practice. Without pausing the video, how quickly can you diagnose and analyze the first thing you would correct with each swimmer? How many need the same instruction? What words or drills would you use to teach them the proper way? What is a positive thing you can praise each swimmer for? There is NO right or wrong way to spot and correct but a trained eye can separate the "wheat from the chaff" using foundationally correct methods. And the more you watch, the easier it becomes to slow down their motion in your head so you can pick out the more critical things first.
