Russell,

Potential topics that can be better explained with video:

How to break down strokes for teaching and correcting.

What to fix first (wheat from chaff).

Importance of spotting good things in every stroke. (To give a positive to the swimmer.)

Perhaps detailed (but quick) videos on topics newer coaches might have, such as: “What is front quadrant Freestyle, and should I worry about it for youngsters?”

How can I develop a “critical eye” to spot and analyze strokes quickly and accurately?

Why do many AG coaches just give a practice set then sit back and watch, or chat with another coach? (Or throw out a correction every 10 minutes or so?)

Crude analogy:  If there are 5 parts to a stroke (Head-Body-Arms-Legs-Timing-Breathing) and each part has 5 segments (Eg: Entry – Catch  -Pull – Finish - Release) and each segment has 5 things that need to be taught or corrected (Eg: Foot point or flex – Ankle - Knee bend – Flexibility - Hips, etc.) and there are 4 strokes, plus turns, it gives you …..

5 x 5 x 5 x 5 = 625 potential things to spot, analyze and correct with EACH swimmer.  And if you have 40 swimmers thrashing through the pool, that’s 25,000 things that need to be analyzed, good or bad.  This can be overwhelming, especially for newer or less experienced coaches.  And in many clubs, those are the ones tabbed to teach the younger age groups.

All videos can be edited for better color tint.
Sample Fly video 1  Some notes were cut off at bottom.
Novice AG swimmer Backstroke.  Normal speed then slo-mo.
Turn video w/ slo-mo and freeze in "quiz" format
1 min 45 second compilation of AG strokes (Slow-mo at end)
